Nearly two-thirds of the horses from the Kaydeross Carousel have been restored after a four-year effort to raise money for the project.
City Commissioner of Public Works Thomas McTygue said 18 of the horses have been redone and the city has received financial commitments to pay for another.
The restorations are being done by Bill Finkenstein at R&F Designs in Bristol, Conn. "They're in fairly good shape for the years on them," Finkenstein said of the horses he has done so far. "There haven't been any surprises, yet."
