SA: Adelaide's youth unemployment shocking, says Macklin
Acting federal opposition leader JENNY MACKLIN says young people in Adelaide are losingtheir way in life amid a youth unemployment rate in the city of almost 28 per cent.
Ms MACKLIN's described as shocking, Adelaide's youth unemployment rate of 27.7 percent, revealed yesterday by Department of Employment and Workplace Relations figures.
Ms MACKLIN says too many young people in Adelaide are losing their way in life.
She says it's a tragedy and it's time for the HOWARD government to act.
She says the federal government must take action to get more young people living inAdelaide back into the education system or in decent jobs.
Ms MACKLIN says South Australia's youth unemployment rate is 26.6 per cent, comparedwith a national average of 22.8 per cent.
